Do you know about all of the free books online?

There are lots of free websites where your students can read books online or using an app on an iPad. I didn't discover this until this year, but I have to say, it has made guided reading groups and accessing leveled reading material much easier. Some of these websites have famous actors and actresses reading the books, and others have the actual book for the students to read. Here are some of my favorites!

1.  Storyline
 Book is read out loud

2.Read to Me

Book is read out loud

3. We Give Books
Students read the books themselves

4. Barnes and Noble
Book is read out loud

5. Portland Library
Options include read aloud books and read to self books

6. Children's Library
Students read the books themselves

7. ABCya
Books are read out loud

8. Story Nory
Books are read out loud but students can also follow along

9. Unite For Literacy
Absolutely fabulous resource for nonfiction text!

9. Last...my very favorite- EPIC BOOKS!
Epic is available on both the computer and the iPad.When you sign up for an Epic teacher account (Epic! For Educators) you get instant access to THOUSANDS of books! They have a huge variety of reading levels and they have so many books in a variety of categories. You can also search by format and have access to books that are read aloud as well. You need to sign up for this. Right now. Stop reading. Go sign up. You won't regret it!
