Let's face it- differentiation is like juggling twenty balls at once! It is definitely not easy. Here are a few things that I have learned that will hopefully make using leveled reading material easier in your classroom.
Check the Readability Yourself!

Lexile? Grade Level? WHAT?!?!
Having trouble figuring out the correspondence between reading levels, grade levels, and lexile levels? Here is a website that should clear this up a little for you: Super Helpful Chart
Check the Readability Yourself!
- Even if a text isn't labeled with a reading level, it is really easy to find that information out! Websites such as Readability allow you to copy and paste text from a document or website into the online calculator. Then, it will calculate the reading level for you!
- Microsoft Word will also tell you the reading level of a document! Here is a link to a great tutorial that will show you how to do this: CLICK HERE
