Let's face it- differentiation is like juggling twenty balls at once! It is definitely not easy. Here are a few things that I have learned that will hopefully make using leveled reading material easier in your classroom.

Check the Readability Yourself!
  • Even if a text isn't labeled with a reading level, it is really easy to find that information out! Websites such as Readability allow you to copy and paste text from a document or website into the online calculator. Then, it will calculate the reading level for you!
  • Microsoft Word will also tell you the reading level of a document! Here is a link to a great tutorial that will show you how to do this: CLICK HERE



Don't Reinvent the Wheel!
